About Redlands Residential Care

Redland Residential Care (RRC) is co located on the Redland Hospital Site and operate 126 beds of which there are 16 Transition care bed and 110 Residential beds. The residential beds have been transitioned to a complex care model to accommodate patients form the MSHHS services/ hospitals and Dementia Outreach service especially those who cannot be placed in other aged care facilities or those who have been transferred to hospital due to complex issues and can't return.

The service comprises of Daintree - 15 Psychogeriatric beds (gazetted extended treatment and rehab model), Acacia - 31 secure dementia beds complex mobile residents, Boronia - 16 bed step down behaviour unit – for transition of patients from the dementia and psychogeriatric unit, Blue Gum 32 bed complex frail aged beds (also accommodating bariatric patients) and Red Gum - 16 Transition care beds targeting restorative rehabilitation and 16 Frail aged beds.

RRC provides a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery with a focus on resident's rights and choices.  Residents (as able), relatives, carers and other health professionals are involved in the individual care planning process and encouraged to play an active role in the decision-making process.
