Your new role:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Coding Quality Coordinator to join our Health Information Management Services team. In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage the Clinical Coding Quality Program, including education, quality audits, and clinician liaison activities to ensure high standards of coding accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Provide expert advice on DRG assignment and the application of coding standards within the hospital.
- Coordinate clinician liaison across multiple disciplines to improve clinical documentation and support accurate DRG assignment.
- Develop and deliver education and training programs for clinical coders and clinicians to enhance coding quality and compliance.
- Monitor coding performance, manage competency programs, and support the team in meeting coding deadlines.
About you:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong expertise in clinical coding standards, classification practices, and hospital funding methodologies, including up-to-date knowledge of ABF, ICD-10-AM, and QHAPDC definitions.
- Proven experience in managing quality assurance activities such as coding audits, education programs, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clinicians, coders, and management.
- Mandatory qualifications: Completion of a Comprehensive Medical Terminology course (or Challenge Examination) and an Introductory, Intermediate, or Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS clinical coding course (or equivalent).

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
