Your new role:
As Principal Business Manager, you will lead financial operations within the QEII Finance Department, ensuring strategic alignment with Metro South Health's objectives. Your role encompasses financial planning, reporting, and team leadership to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the annual budgeting process, month-end reconciliations, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage a team of finance professionals, providing mentorship and fostering continuous development.
- Utilize financial systems such as S/4HANA, DSS, Excel, and PowerBI to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
- Collaborate with the QEII Finance Manager and Directorate Executive team to address complex financial and activity-based funding issues.

What you bring:
- Proven Leadership & Team Management – Experience leading and mentoring finance staff, with strong delegation and performance development capabilities.
- Financial Expertise in Healthcare – Advanced financial management skills, including activity-based funding, cost modelling, budgeting, and month-end reporting in public health or similarly complex organisations.
- Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Adept at consulting and influencing internal and external stakeholders, including executive and directorate teams, to resolve funding and reporting issues.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
