Your new role:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Casual Administration Officer to join our Switchboard and Telecommunications Services team at Logan Hospital. In this fast-paced role, you will be the first point of contact for callers and provide essential telecommunication support to hospital staff and the community.

  • Respond courteously and efficiently to telephone enquiries, maintaining minimal call queues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Switchboard Services phone directory and paging systems.
  • Support emergency response procedures by promptly relaying notifications to appropriate response teams in accordance with protocols.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team while managing individual priorities with limited supervision.

About you:

You will be an organised and adaptable professional with excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality service delivery. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and your strong attention to detail will ensure the smooth operation of switchboard services.

  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Competence in maintaining accurate data within telecommunication systems and databases.
  • A team player who contributes to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
