Your new role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Assistant Senior to join our Cancer Services Pharmacy team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will provide senior assistant support to pharmacists, contributing to the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of medicines management services for cancer patients.

  • Perform senior pharmacy assistant duties, including medicine supply, stock control, and quality improvement activities.
  • Support pharmacists with clinical trial management, PBS/Efficient Funding of Chemotherapy (EFC) processes, and cancer therapy compounding.
  • Operate and maintain advanced electronic medication management and automated dispensing systems.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and supervision to pharmacy staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

About you:

You will be an organised, proactive, and collaborative professional with advanced knowledge of pharmacy operations, particularly in cancer services. You will demonstrate a commitment to patient care, continuous learning, and service excellence.

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47115) or equivalent, including the Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest Stock module.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of medicine dispensing, inventory management, and compounding procedures in line with professional standards.
  • Demonstrate advanced organisational, communication, and teamwork skills to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Have a customer-focused approach with a proven ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
