Your new role:
As the Clinical Midwife Consultant for the Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Initiative, you will play a vital role in enhancing the health outcomes of pregnant people and their children by strengthening preventive healthcare practices across multiple maternity services. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the implementation of the Supporting Healthier Pregnancy Initiative under the Putting Queensland Kids First Strategy.
- Improving routine public antenatal care through enhanced screening and clear referral pathways for ongoing support.
- Providing clinical leadership and expert advice across MSH Maternity Services, including Logan, Redland, and Beaudesert Hospitals.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote best practices in maternal and child health.
About you:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced midwife who is committed to improving maternal and child health outcomes through evidence-based preventive care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong clinical expertise and leadership in midwifery, particularly in antenatal care and preventive health screening.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams across multiple sites.
- A commitment to improving health equity and outcomes for pregnant people and their families.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to drive initiatives and engage stakeholders effectively.

The Metro South Health (MSH) Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery (EDNM) Division provides overarching governance, leadership, strategic support and guidance for the Nursing and Midwifery professions across the health service. The EDNM Division is responsible for creating and delivering the MSH Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and associated Workforce, Education and Research priorities in alignment with the MSH Strategic Plan.
