Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse in the Princess Alexandra Hospital Main Operating Theatres, you'll play a critical role in delivering advanced perioperative care by:

  • Leading the coordination and delivery of safe, evidence-based nursing care for surgical patients with complex needs.
  • Providing expert clinical support, mentorship, and supervision to a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Contributing to education, quality improvement, and research initiatives within the theatre environment.
  • Participating in a roster that includes shift work across all hours and an on-call commitment, supporting flexible and 24/7 service delivery.

About you:

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated perioperative nurse who will contribute to clinical leadership and excellence through:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in the Operating Theatre environment, particularly in the General Surgery Instrument and Circulating roles.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure clinical settings.
  • Active engagement in professional development, education, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Fostering a supportive team culture, including respectful communication, collaboration, and role modelling best practice.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
