Your new role:
As the Coding Quality Coordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of clinical coding at Princess Alexandra Hospital. You will lead the Coding Quality Program to support the delivery of high-quality coding services in a tertiary healthcare environment. Core responsibilities include:
- Coordinating comprehensive coding audits, education, and clinical liaison activities to ensure adherence to coding standards and improve data integrity.
- Supporting and mentoring senior, advanced, and junior clinical coders to enhance team capabilities and service quality.
- Providing expert advice and analysis on coded data to inform performance reporting, benchmarking, and funding initiatives.
- Collaborating with clinical and coding staff to improve documentation and coding practices, particularly in tertiary and super-specialty areas.
About you:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional with strong clinical coding expertise and leadership qualities who can drive excellence in coding quality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in clinical coding with a focus on tertiary and super-specialty casemix, showing accuracy and technical proficiency.
- Proven skills in auditing coded data and applying clinical classification standards effectively in a complex healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities, with a commitment to teamwork and staff development.
- Sound knowledge of casemix funding models and diagnostic related group (DRG) assignments relevant to clinical coding.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
