Your new role:
This role is an opportunity to deliver high-quality Environmental Health services that protect and promote public health across the Metro South Hospital and Health Service. You will work as a key member of an interprofessional public health team, applying your expertise to complex matters while contributing to service improvement and workforce development. You will:
- Administer and interpret public health legislation, policies and standards to protect community health.
- Lead and manage investigations into complex environmental health and public health matters.
- Provide expert advice, supervision and training to less experienced staff and students.
- Drive quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice across the Environmental Health team.
- After hours work and participation in on-call arrangements are a requirement of the position.
About you:
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable professional with a passion for safeguarding community health. You will bring proven expertise in Environmental Health along with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (accredited by Environmental Health Australia) with demonstrated expertise in environmental health legislation and practice.
- High-level knowledge and experience in delivering environmental health services of a complex nature.
- Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams, industry and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and support less experienced staff, while leading service improvement initiatives.
