Your new role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Outpatient Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital. In this role, you will:
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, care planning, and specialist ophthalmology nursing to patients with complex needs.
- Work autonomously while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care.
- Provide clinical leadership, education, and support to colleagues, students, and junior staff to foster a learning culture.
- Contribute to quality improvement, research, and service development initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care standards.
- Be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
About you:
We are looking for a dynamic, patient-focused nursing professional with specialist expertise in ophthalmology or a strong interest in developing in this field. The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in patient care.
- Show strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills to support safe, collaborative service delivery.
- Be committed to professional development, quality improvement, and contributing to innovation in ophthalmology care.
- Hold a post graduate qualification or currently enrolled in a post graduate program in a relevant area of study is highly desirable.
