Support Families with Compassion as a Bereavement Counsellor
We’re seeking a Bereavement Counsellor (HP3) to join the Metro South Palliative Care Service (MSPCS), delivering compassionate, evidence-based support to individuals and families experiencing loss. Based primarily across Logan, Redland, Corinda and QEII sites, this role offers meaningful work in a multidisciplinary team supporting patients and carers before and after death.

Your new role:
As a Bereavement Counsellor, you will deliver compassionate counselling and support to adults receiving palliative care and their families, both pre- and post-death. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing holistic, patient-centred care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering assessment, therapeutic intervention, counselling, and advocacy
- Supporting families through loss, grief, and adjustment to bereavement
- Contributing to discharge planning, case conferences and care networks
- Providing education and supervision to students and allied health assistants
- Engaging in service improvement and quality activities

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
