Your new role:
As a Data Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting accurate health information management across QEII Jubilee Hospital. Working within Health Information Management Services, you'll help safeguard patient safety by ensuring data quality, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing data maintenance across health information systems (ieMR, HBCIS, QMPI)
- Investigating and resolving data discrepancies and system errors
- Supporting staff through training materials, manuals, and guidance on data practices
- Conducting quality audits and assisting with accreditation processes
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
- Fostering collaborative working relationships with clinical and administrative staff
About you:
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong technical and analytical skills, capable of maintaining data accuracy and supporting clinical teams.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience with health information systems (ieMR, HBCIS, QMPI) or the ability to learn quickly
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality assurance skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to liaise across teams
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to confidentiality, patient safety, and continuous improvement
- Previous experience in health information/data roles will be highly regarded

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
