Your new role:
As a Midwifery Educator at Metro South Health, you will operate at an advanced practice level to design, implement, assess, and continuously improve midwifery education programs. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of learning and clinical excellence, supporting midwives at all career stages through evidence-based education and workforce development strategies. Reporting to the Nursing Director, you will collaborate closely with clinical and management teams to drive educational outcomes aligned with organisational goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and evaluation of midwifery education programs and resources
- Provide expert clinical advice and mentorship to midwives and healthcare teams
- Design and deliver simulation-based and evidence-informed learning opportunities
- Support professional development through coaching, mentoring, and lifelong learning frameworks
About you:
You are an experienced midwife with a passion for education and leadership, driven to empower clinical teams through innovative training and support. Your advanced clinical knowledge is complemented by your ability to collaborate, motivate, and implement programs that elevate patient care and workforce capabilities. Skills & Qualifications:
- Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Tertiary qualification in Midwifery (Bachelor's required; postgraduate qualifications highly desirable)
- Proven experience in clinical education, program design, and workforce development
- Proficient in managing resources, data analysis, and reporting for performance indicators

About us:
The Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit is an education and research unit composed of: Nursing Director of Education, specialty specific Nurse and Midwife Educators and Clinical Facilitators. There is also an Administration Officer who supports the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit. The unit works collaboratively with the service lines to meet the learning and development needs of nurses and midwives whilst promoting a learning culture within the Logan and Beaudesert Health Service and the Bayside Health Service.
