Metro South Health is seeking a motivated Patient Option Liaison Officer to join the QEII Jubilee Hospital Revenue team. This temporary part-time AO4 role (Monday and Tuesday) runs until January 2026, with possible extension. The role provides patient liaison, data coordination, and support for fee-paying patient services within a dynamic hospital environment.

Your new role:
As the Patient Option Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of fee-paying patient services and revenue initiatives. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams, you'll ensure patients are informed of their admission and billing options while maintaining compliance with the Health Insurance Act and departmental policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, customer-focused liaison services to patients and staff
- Reviewing daily admissions and ensuring accurate classification of fee-paying patients
- Liaising with patients, doctors, and health funds to finalise billing documentation
- Generating reports and maintaining data accuracy in financial systems
- Providing training and guidance to staff on revenue retention and patient election processes
About you:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional with strong financial awareness and communication skills.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of financial management and revenue systems in a complex health setting
- Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage with patients, staff, and external stakeholders
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve billing and classification issues
- Ability to deliver training and build awareness of financial procedures among staff
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in data and records management

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
