Metro South Health is seeking a motivated Administration Officer to join the Emergency Department at Logan Hospital. This permanent part-time AO3 role (56 hours per fortnight) operates on a 24/7 rotating roster, providing essential administrative support to nursing and medical staff, patients, and visitors in a dynamic and high-paced environment.

Your new role:
As an Administration Officer in the Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support to ensure efficient patient flow and communication. You'll assist with patient registration, admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accuracy, empathy, and professionalism in every interaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Registering, admitting, transferring, and discharging patients using FirstNet and HBCIS systems
- Providing a welcoming, respectful, and efficient first point of contact for patients and visitors
- Supporting clinical staff by managing administrative duties and maintaining patient information accuracy
- Assisting with Patient Election Form (PEF) completion and Medicare ineligibility payments
- Coordinating paperwork, patient transport, and discharge documentation
- Maintaining confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance with Queensland Health standards
- Contributing to workplace safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Experience in administration within healthcare or a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and data accuracy using hospital systems (FirstNet, HBCIS)

- Ability to manage competing priorities across a 24/7 roster
- Commitment to teamwork, accountability, and service excellence
- Understanding of confidentiality, compliance, and patient safety principles
