Your new role:

As a Pharmacy Student at Metro South Hospital and Health Service, you'll gain valuable experience while contributing to the safe and effective delivery of medication and pharmacy support services. Working under the supervision of experienced Pharmacists, this casual role is designed to complement your studies while developing practical skills in a hospital environment.

You'll be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team where your contributions make a real difference. We're looking for compassionate, motivated students who are eager to learn, grow, and deliver safe, respectful care. In this role, you will:

  • Support medication supply processes such as dispensing and imprest distribution.
  • Assist with delegated patient care activities under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
  • Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes.
  • Participate in training, development, and professional meetings.

About you:

We're looking for Pharmacy students who are passionate about health care, eager to learn, and committed to making a positive impact on patient wellbeing. You're a team player, an effective communicator, and take pride in your professionalism and accountability.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Current enrolment in a recognised Pharmacy tertiary program.
  • A strong understanding of medication safety, basic pharmacology, and PBS.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and dispense medications under supervision.
  • A patient-centred approach, respecting diversity and cultural differences.

About us:

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
