Your new role:

As an Administration Officer Reliever, you'll provide essential clerical and front-of-house support to ensure the smooth operation of surgical and perioperative services. You'll be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, delivering professional service and maintaining accurate information across hospital systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Respond to patient, staff and visitor enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face.
  • Provide reception and administrative support across multiple hospital departments.
  • Maintain accurate patient information, records and documentation in systems such as HBCIS and ieMR.
  • Coordinate appointments, admissions, transfers and discharges to support patient flow.
  • Assist with rosters, data entry, and correspondence management.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment, and liaise with clinical teams to ensure continuity of service.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace that reflects Metro South Health's values.

About you:

You're a professional, detail-oriented communicator who brings energy and efficiency to everything you do. You thrive in dynamic environments, can adapt to changing priorities, and take pride in providing exceptional administrative support to clinical teams.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated administrative experience within a busy, multi-disciplinary or healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Proven organisational ability, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, records management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospital systems (HBCIS, ieMR, S4HANA, BEMS).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
