Your new role:
As the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) – Perioperative Services, you will lead a multidisciplinary team across Bayside Health Service to deliver safe, high-quality, and person-centred perioperative care. You'll ensure operational excellence and clinical governance by:
- Leading and coordinating pre-operative, theatre, anaesthetic, PACU, endoscopy, and acute pain service functions.
- Driving innovation, workforce development, and best-practice nursing standards.
- Managing human, financial, and material resources effectively to optimise outcomes.
- Supporting clinical education, staff development, and succession planning.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards across all perioperative domains.
About you:
You are a motivated and compassionate nursing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You'll bring to this role:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (RN).
- Advanced clinical knowledge and leadership experience in perioperative nursing.
- Proven ability in operational management, budgeting, and staff development.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and person-centred care.
- Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing or management (desirable).

Redland Hospital:
Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health and minor injury care, acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
