Your Role
Responsibilities include:
- Provide appropriate health and safety assistance to schools within a designated service area in keeping with departmental priorities.
- Coordinate the implementation of health and safety initiatives, strategies and programs to schools within a designated service area to meet departmental policy requirements and to improve overall organisational health, safety and wellbeing.
- Provide advice and report to management, both at the local and corporate level, on health and safety legislation and performance issues affecting schools within a designated service area.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety policies and initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret health and safety legislative developments and practices and disseminate this information to relevant departmental personnel. Contribute towards the planning and development of health and safety resources, training, workshops and presentations.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training, workshops and presentations that align with departmental strategies for improving school health and safety performance within a designated service area.
- Analyse injury statistics and WorkCover data to prioritise audit and inspection processes in schools within a designated service area.
- Utilise audit and inspection data to implement improved health and safety management systems in schools within a designated service area.
- Coordinate and review the investigation of serious accidents and incidents in schools within a designated service area in consultation with school staff, and facilitate the preparation of management reports on these issues.
About You
The Ideal Applicant will:
- Possess excellent communicaiton, stakeholder and engagement skills.
- Possess strongly developed knowledge and applicaiton of Health and Safety Legislation.
- Thrive as part of a hig perfomring team, contrubuting to team operational plans and strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills focussed on collaboration and can effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Possession of a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and SAfety would be an advantage.
Mandatory Requiremetns for the role -
- Drivers License as role requires daily and weekly travel between schools and department offices.
