About the Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to join Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC), a key part of the Queensland Education Training Centres (QETC), located within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre. Operating 48 weeks a year, BYETC provides inclusive and comprehensive educational programs for up to 162 young people, offering a chance to make a real difference in a supportive and purpose-driven environment.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented administration officer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform a range of administrative and support services essential for the smooth operation of the school. This position requires exceptional organisational skills, a strong understanding of administrative processes, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of OneSchool and TLM is preferred.
- Support human resources tasks, including printing timesheets, processing leave applications, maintaining rosters, and assisting with claims management for school support staff.
- Develop, monitor, and manage Blue Card processes and Accumulated Days Off (ADO) arrangements.
- Provide guidance to staff on leave entitlements, timesheet management (including TLM), and Blue Card compliance.
- Collaborate with the Business Manager to manage supply and contract placements for teaching and support staff.
- Manage reception duties, including handling telephone and counter enquiries, arranging appointments, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain accurate school records, including incident reports, student admissions, enrolments, and departures.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and email communications.
- Coordinate the recruitment, induction, and training of school support staff.
- Monitor human resource service delivery, ensuring compliance with government and departmental standards.
- Conduct research and analysis on human resource practices to support informed decision-making.
- Undertake duties as directed by the Principal and Business Manager.
- Support staff with employment conditions, payroll, leave, MyHR, contracts, and claims.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the OneSchool system.
- Provide rehabilitation and return-to-work support as required.
- Demonstrate efficient multitasking and time management skills.
- Display a proven ability to work harmoniously within a team environment.
