About Macleay Island State School:
Macleay Island State School is a Prep to Year 6 Primary School situated on picturesque Macleay Island in Moreton Bay, 15 minutes from the coast off Brisbane.
Supporting our students to achieve the best they can be is personified by our school rules of 'Be Safe', 'Be Respectful' and 'Be A Learner'.
About the Role:
As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team working in a school, you will connect with students, staff, parents, carers and the broader community. This position provides services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
The FTE is negotiable with both full time and part time fractions available and open to consideration with the successful applicants.
Responsibilities Include:
- Individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families.
- Support and manage diagnoses from external providers, monitoring students' progress.
- Assist school communities to respond to critical incidents and provide counselling and support to affected students.
- Identify needs and participate in the referral and planning of services for children, parents and families to community health agencies.
- Complete the minimum requirements for 30 hours of professional development activities annually in line with the Psychology Board of Australia registration standards.

- Annual leave loading (17.5%).
- 38-hour week.
