The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, Metropolitan South Region is seeking a high performing Administration Officer to join our team. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and customer service skills to
support the Regulatory team to provide quality service to their clients. You will join our team in the Ipswich Regional Office, Metropolitan South Region.
This is a temporary, part-time position with the successful applicant required to work on Thursday’s and Friday’s each week.

About the Department
The Department of Education (DoE) sets the foundations for quality early learning experiences and delivers world class education services. The department also hosts the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority. As the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, the department is responsible for regulating Queensland's early childhood education and care sector and responsible for assessing and rating the quality of Queensland early childhood education and care services against the National Quality Standard (NQS). The NQS is a key aspect of the National Quality Framework and sets a national benchmark for early childhood education and care services.
About the Role
The Administration Officer is the first point of contact to the Ipswich Regulatory team, providing professional, efficient and confidential administration support. Your role encompasses providing quality administrative and corporate support within the Regulatory team, where you will work in a fast-paced environment that requires your efficient time management and strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities include:
As an Administration Officer, your responsibilities include:
- Provide confidential and accurate administrative support, information and advice to Directors, Managers and other staff in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, on administrative and financial issues.
- Receive telephone and email enquiries and respond in a professional and timely manner, providing information as required, or where necessary direct the queries to the appropriate area.
- Work collegially as a team for the delivery of administrative and corporate support functions for the region.
- Maintain the records management system, National database systems and administer the flow of correspondence across the unit. This can include acting as the central point for correspondence and documents, including distribution of correspondence and other documents, and when necessary, follow up on outstanding items and preparation of documents for approval.
- Maintain currency of subject knowledge, technical proficiency and skills appropriate to the role including compliance with appropriate legislation, policies, procedures and protocols
About You
The ideal candidate will have;
- Experience in providing high quality administrative support in a fast-paced corporate environment
- High level time management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
