Cleveland State School is a warm and community-focused primary school situated in the heart of Cleveland in Redland City.
We're looking for a passionate Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) to join our team in Term 3, 2025 for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.
You will promote an inclusive culture and practices within the
school community to ensure equity and excellence for students with disability. You will develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance with related legislation and policies.

About the Role
As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and coordinate high-quality advice and support from the Special Education and Early Childhood Development Programs.
- Lead and manage these programs, providing advice to classroom teachers for students with disabilities as needed.
- Offer high-quality advice to school leadership and staff to plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.
- Coordinate and provide targeted teaching for students needing intervention.
- Provide and coordinate case management for students requiring significant adjustments.
- Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development.
- Engage in school decision-making and professional development to contribute to school goals and vision.
- Implement and manage school-wide systems to monitor and record the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
- Form partnerships with parents, government agencies, and community groups to support students with disabilities.
- Manage human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources to achieve goals.
