An opportunity is available to join the Metropolitan South Region as a Senior Guidance Officer - Student Services.
This role, based in the Metropolitan South Region, involves coordinating and supporting the provision of guidance and counselling services to schools in consultation with Principals.
Additionally, you will develop and implement a system of clinical and
technical supervision, in collaboration with Principals, to ensure that guidance practices are appropriate.
This role is until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

Your Opportunity
As the Senior Guidance Officer - Student Services, you will:
- Coordinate and support the provision of guidance and counselling services to schools in consultation with Principals.
- Develop and implement a system of clinical and technical supervision in collaboration with Principals to ensure that guidance practices are appropriate.
The Senior Guidance Officer reports to the nominated delegate of the Regional Director. When delivering a direct guidance service, the Senior Guidance Officer reports to the Principal of the school in which that service is delivered.
Your Responsibilities
As the Senior Guidance Officer - Student Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and supporting the provision of guidance and counselling services to schools in consultation with Principals.
- Developing and implementing a system of clinical and technical supervision in collaboration with Principals to ensure that guidance practices are appropriate.
- Coordinating and maintaining the provision of professional development in relation to guidance and counselling related skills.
- Providing direct guidance services to students as determined through consultation with Principals.
- Working with Principals and school-based guidance officers to ensure the effective provision of guidance and counselling services directly to students.
- Possesses strong leadership and effective management skills, with a commitment to achieving student-focused goals.
- Demonstrates expertise in clinical and technical supervision, including psycho-educational assessment, intervention, and behaviour management support.
