About the Role  

As Head of Department - English, known within Runcorn State High School as Head of Department Communications, you will lead the communication curriculum area, including English and Languages. You will guide the development and delivery of programs aligned with departmental and school initiatives. Additionally, you will oversee the leadership of the EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) program, ensuring tailored support for diverse learners and contributing to the school's commitment to inclusive, high-quality education. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the  Head of Department - English, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
