About the Role
As the Executive Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the School Executive and Guidance Officers Team at the Brisbane School of Distance Education, which delivers lessons in an online learning environment. This position provides high-level administrative and organisational support, with a direct reporting line to the Deputy Principal (ISS) and a team of six Guidance Officers. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic setting. While not mandatory, knowledge of OneSchool functionality is highly desirable, and a sound understanding of Education Queensland policies and Department of Education standards is essential. This is a temporary part-time role, working 43.5 hours per fortnight (0.60 FTE) for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.
Your Responsibilities
As the Executive Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Work independently to manage daily tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Interpret and accurately apply relevant policies and procedures in all aspects of the role.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while taking direction from multiple Guidance Officers.
This role commence work at 8:00 a.m. each day to support the operational needs of the team.
