About the Role  

As the Head of Department (Curriculum), you will lead the curriculum focus in alignment with school and departmental initiatives, supporting the delivery of the State Schools Division's vision while enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the school. You will nurture positive relationships among students, teachers, and stakeholders, and play a key role in facilitating collaborative planning meetings with teachers, with a strong focus on implementing Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. The successful candidate will bring experience and well-developed interpersonal skills to support staff through coaching and capability building, particularly in effectively delivering the Australian Curriculum to all learners. The school has implemented the Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) Phonics Program, and this role will include a teaching component.

Your Responsibilities 

As the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Developing a Whole School Approach to Reading in line with the Department's reading commitment to teach reading consistently using an evidence-informed approach.
  • Create a Inclusive School Culture.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
