Corinda State High School is seeking passionate and dynamic educators to join our Senior Leadership Team in the role of Head of Department - Student Services (House Master).

Our Head of Department - Student Services (House Master) works collaboratively to foster a cohesive and supportive House culture aligned with the school's Student Success Strategy.

Each House Master leads one of six Houses and plays a vital role in embedding the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework across the domains of Academics, Behaviour, and Wellbeing/Engagement.

The Head of Department: Student Services (House Master) leads whole-House initiatives that support student wellbeing, belonging, and engagement, ensuring that all students have access to proactive, universal supports. Through the integration of the PERMAH framework, House Masters champion positive psychology and restorative practices, promote school spirit, and model high expectations for behaviour and attendance. They also lead the coordination of House events, student leadership, and intervention strategies, contributing to a positive school culture and connected community.

Responsibilities include:

• Foster House Culture and Identity
o Lead the development of a positive, inclusive, and unified House culture across all year levels within your House.
o Promote a strong sense of pride, belonging, and connection within the House.
o Recognise and celebrate student achievements, effort, and engagement.

• Implement MTSS Tier 1 Strategies
o Embed universal supports for academic success, behavioural expectations, and wellbeing initiatives in alignment with the MTSS framework.
o Work collaboratively within the wider Student Services Team to ensure students receive timely, appropriate support.

• Implement whole-House proactive engagement strategies to address emerging needs and promote student success.
o Integrate the principles of positive psychology into House activities to enhance student resilience, relationships, and motivation.
o Lead wellbeing-focused initiatives and events that build connectedness and engagement.

• Monitor and Improve Student Attendance and Punctuality
o Track daily Home Group attendance and identify patterns of lateness or disengagement.
o Implement interventions for students consistently late to school or absent from Home Group.
o Support Home Group teachers in their monitoring and pastoral care responsibilities.

• Coordinate Student Leadership and House Events
o Lead and mentor House Captains and Leaders in partnership with the Deputy Principal (Culture).
o Organise and manage House traditions, competitions, and celebratory events to strengthen student involvement.

• Mentor and Support Students
o Provide guidance, encouragement, and mentorship to students within the House system.
o Champion and model the use of Restorative Practices to build relationships between staff and students.

• Strengthen Community Links
o Connect students with broader opportunities and supports through initiatives such as Corinda Cares.
o Build partnerships that enhance the student experience and foster a sense of belonging within the wider school community.
