Holland Park State High School is a co-educational secondary school in Brisbane, catering for students in Years 7-12. About the Role
Responsibilities include:
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and basic handyman tasks
- Ensure facilities are safe, clean and compliant with workplace health and safety requirements
- Monitor and maintain equipment, tools and maintenance schedules
- Liaise with line managers and contractors as required
- Proactively identify maintenance issues and report or address them promptly
- Performing general maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, furniture relocation, and upkeep of school facilities and equipment.
- Supporting school events by preparing activity areas, the assembly halls, and sporting facilities, as well as assisting with waste management and cleaning duties.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment maintenance.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to handle diverse daily tasks effectively and independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external contractors.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and task management.
- Ability to undertake physical work.
Desirable Candidate Attributes:
- Trade qualifications or certification (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, painting).
