At Ripley Central State School, we are seeking a proactive and people-focused Computer Assistant to join our team. This role is integral to supporting the day-to-day operation of our school’s ICT systems while contributing positively to our collaborative and values-driven environment.

This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.59FTE), 45 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

  • Provide first-level technical support to staff and students, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and management of computers, devices, and peripherals across the school
  • Support the installation and updating of software and applications in line with departmental requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of ICT equipment, repairs, and asset management
  • Assist with user account management and access support
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure technology enhances teaching and learning outcomes
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner

Skills and Experience

Must Have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and students
  • A proactive, “can do” attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot ICT issues effectively
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, networks, and common software applications
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in a school or education setting
  • Experience working within Education Queensland systems and processes
  • Knowledge of device management systems and ICT asset tracking
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in Information Technology or a related field
