You will need strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, along with proven knowledge and experience in human resource practices within the Department of Education.

Your role:

As the Business Manager - Human Resources, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational human resource leadership across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-level human resource support and advice to the Principal and Leadership Team including oversight of recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Supporting the Principal, Business Manager and Leadership Team with strategic workforce planning and staffing management.
  • Liaising effectively with regional HR teams, payroll services, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficient workforce operations.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach in managing complex staffing matters.
  • Managing and overseeing end-to-end staff leave processes and approvals across the school.
  • Leading and coordinating ADO management and timesheet administration processes.
  • Managing the SBS Staffing Profile, including monitoring staffing allocations, SBS credits and workforce utilisation.
  • Coordinating and leading comprehensive recruitment and induction programs for all staff.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day supervision and management of school cleaning staff and cleaning operations.
  • Leading workplace rehabilitation, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
  • Managing salary recovery processes and payroll verification to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
