Minden State School is looking for an enthusiastic Schools Officer to join our team for 3 days per week! Hours and days are flexible for the right applicant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented school environment for our students, staff, and community.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.60FTE), 45.6 hours per fortnight.

About the Role:

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.

You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining school grounds, gardens, and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Undertaking routine maintenance and coordinating repairs to facilities and equipment.
  • Supporting school security and ensuring facilities are safe and well-presented.
  • Assisting with the setup and pack-down of school events and activities.
  • Operating and maintaining grounds care equipment in line with workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and school staff regarding maintenance and facilities matters.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, facilities, landscaping, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills.

  • Pride in maintaining a safe, attractive, and welcoming school environment.

Progressional roles show a salary range spanning two classifications. Appointment will be made at the level appropriate to skill and fulfilment of required criteria.
