About the Role:
As Head of Department - Curriculum, you will be a key member of the leadership team, partnering with the Principal to drive the school's improvement agenda aligned to departmental priorities, including the Brighter Futures strategy.
You will lead the implementation of the Australian Curriculum Version 9 across all learning areas, ensuring alignment of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting, and strengthening consistency of practice across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading whole-school curriculum implementation (AC v9)
- Driving evidence-informed pedagogy, with a focus on literacy, reading and engagement
- Leading data analysis, professional conversations and staff capability in the use of data to improve student learning outcomes
- Providing instructional leadership in planning, assessment and moderation
- Coaching and mentoring teachers to build capability in their understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the achievement standard
- Monitoring the impact of teaching practices on student outcomes
- Supporting inclusive and differentiated practices to engage all learners
This role directly supports our priorities:

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader who demonstrates:
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (v9) and effective pedagogy
- Proven ability to lead curriculum implementation and whole-school improvement
- Expertise in literacy, particularly the teaching of reading P-6
- Capability in using data to inform teaching and leading professional dialogue with staff in their use of data to inform teaching and learning
- Instructional leadership in planning, assessment and moderation
- Commitment to inclusive education and improved outcomes for all students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead change and build staff capability
- Alignment with our vision and a focus on continuous improvement
