Who We Are:

Lowood State High School is a large rural Queensland school educating students from Year 7 through to Year 12.

The school was established in 1983 and is located 32 km north-west of Ipswich.

Our students' primary school experiences range from one teacher schools to large primary schools.  A large percentage of our student population travel to school by bus.

As a Teacher Aide in a high school setting, you will:

  • Support teachers with classroom activities, resource preparation, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist students in small groups or individually to reinforce learning concepts across a range of subjects.
  • Help supervise practical lessons, excursions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for adolescents.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy when working with students and families.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of classroom support strategies and basic ICT skills
