About the Role:
The Arts program at Coorparoo Secondary College is a key component of our curriculum, with all students engaging in the Junior Arts curriculum for semesterly rotations. In the Senior School, which consists of approximately 185 students, around 175 students are actively undertaking an Arts subject across a wide range of offerings including General, Applied subjects and Certificate courses. This role requires a leader who can strategically guide both curriculum design and senior schooling pathways to maximise student engagement and outcomes.
Key capabilities and experience:
- Proven success in improving student engagement and achievement in Arts and Senior pathways
- Demonstrated instructional leadership and the ability to build teacher capability
- Proven ability to lead high-impact pedagogical practices including the science of learning, explicit instruction, effective feedback and collaboration
- Strong quality assurance processes to ensure consistency and excellence across programs
- Experience designing and implementing student-centred assessment practices
- Strong data literacy and the ability to use data to inform teaching, learning and senior pathway planning
- Capacity to lead senior schooling processes including QCE pathways, General, Applied and Certificate course offerings
Desirable but not essential teaching areas:
- Visual Art, Drama, Dance or Media Arts
- Experience with Applied subjects or vocational education pathways
