Collingwood Park State School is seeking an innovative and passionate Head of Department - Student Engagement, to lead whole-school initiatives that promote student engagement, inclusion, and positive behaviour.

In this leadership role, you will work closely with students, staff, and families to foster safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments. You will lead the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team, support teachers to implement evidence-based engagement and differentiation strategies, and oversee the development of Individual Behaviour and Safety Plans. Building strong partnerships with families and the wider school community, you will play a key role in improving student wellbeing, engagement, and learning outcomes for all.

About the Role:

The role includes leading the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team, modelling effective engagement and differentiation strategies in classrooms, and supporting teachers to implement evidence-based practices that maximise student success.

The successful applicant will also oversee the development of Individual Behaviour and Safety Plans, build strong partnerships with parents and carers, and collaborate with the wider school community to promote safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives that improve student engagement, attendance, behaviour, and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor student performance and implement targeted intervention strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, community organisations, and external agencies to support student success.
  • Use data to inform decision-making, evaluate programs, and support continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership and manage resources to deliver inclusive, high-quality educational outcomes.
