Redbank Plains State High School is seeking two skilled and motivated Vocational Trainers (006) to join our team and support students in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence required for successful transitions from school to further training, employment and career pathways.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with school leadership, the VET Program Coordinator, industry partners and the wider community to deliver high-quality vocational education and training (VET) programs that enhance student engagement and employability outcomes.

About the Role:

As the Vocational Trainer, you will play a key role in planning and delivering vocational instruction aligned to Certificate I, II or III programs, while supporting students to build practical workplace skills, positive work habits and industry readiness.

The successful applicant will work closely with students to monitor progress, support competency completion and foster strong pathways into employment and further education.

Our school is seeking a proactive and organised professional who is committed to supporting young people through authentic learning experiences and strong industry connections.

The successful applicant will build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, staff, employers and community stakeholders to create meaningful opportunities for student success.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging vocational training programs aligned to VET competencies and workplace expectations.
  • Supporting students to develop employability skills, job readiness and positive workplace behaviours.
  • Monitoring student progress, attendance, competency completion and work placement requirements to ensure successful outcomes and RTO compliance.
  • Liaising with industry, employers, schools and community organisations to strengthen career pathway opportunities for students.
  • Maintaining accurate records, training documentation and compliance processes in line with ASQA and departmental requirements.
  • Assisting with the management and maintenance of training resources, equipment and consumable stock associated with program delivery.

These positions suit professionals who demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, effective organisational capability and a commitment to supporting students to achieve successful vocational and educational outcomes.

The Vocational Trainer plays an important role in fostering student engagement, building industry connections and supporting pathways to future employment and training opportunities.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. 
  • Qualifications to the level, or above, being delivered. 
  • Demonstrated relevant Industry experience and currency.
  • Qualifications to suit subjects and the level of course being offered.
