Metro South Hospital and Health Service are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Administration Officers for future casual opportunities over the next 12 months to provide high level administrative support, timely and accurate information and assistance to clients and other staff within the Specialist Outpatient Department, Bayside Health Service.

About the Role

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Provide excellent customer service, and communicate clearly and confidently with patients, members of the public and departmental staff over the phone, via email and in person and assist staff and clients in the work unit as requested.
  • Organise and coordinate patient appointment activities, including the arrival of patients, booking appointments, management of cancellation/rescheduling of clinics, management of clinic waiting lists and coordinating appointments with other services. Ensuring transportation and follow up appointments are arranged.
  • Manage workload appropriately by prioritising tasks and ensuring work is completed within designated timeframes.
  • Contribute to the strategies of the department, through the identification of new initiatives that enhance the performance of administrative services.

The Process

This Expression of Interest collects a variety of information that will help identify potentially suitable applicants for future casual and temporary opportunities. If deemed suitable your details will remain in the Talent Pool for a period of 12 months and should there be an employment opportunity you will be contacted to discuss the opportunity further. Additional selection processes (interview, reference checks and pre-employment checks) to further assess suitability for appointment to a specific position may be required.

  • As part of the talent pool, you may be offered casual or temporary employment opportunities that become available based on the Suitability Pool.
  • A pool will generally continue for a 12-month period.
  • If you are placed in the talent pool, you may be offered a position within the relevant time period, however your appointment to a position is not guaranteed.
