Peer Support Worker - Casual
Redland Bay and/or Logan Central
Bayside & Logan Community Care Units are looking for several Peer Recovery Support workers to join their casual pool. This unit is a residential mental health rehabilitation service for adults who are recovering from severe and enduring mental health issues, offering 24/7 rehabilitation support. This includes assessment, treatment and interventions that focus on functional improvement. In collaboration with the consumer, goals are identified, a care plan is developed and reviewed regularly to assist the recovery pathway.

About the Role
- Provide personalised peer support and practical assistance to consumers to inspire hope and the belief that recovery is possible.
- Assist consumers within Adult Mental Health Services, key service providers and non-government organisations to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework
- Inspire and support consumers through tailored education, information, referrals and support to learn the skills and knowledge to build resilience for mental and physical healthcare needs and to engage in their community.
This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived / living experience of mental health and / or substance use issues and recovery. Applicants are expected to refer to their lived experience within their application.
