The Early Childhood Regulatory Authority seeking an experienced applicant to fill the position of Principal Regulatory Officer. The successful applicant must be confident in making complex assessments to support statutory licensing decisions about early childhood education and care services under the National Quality Framework.
This opportunity is based within the Maroochydore Office.

About the Department:

Responsibilities Include:

The Principal Regulatory Officer contributes to the team's work on a day-to-day basis by:

  • Working in a multidisciplinary team that undertakes complex regulatory activities, makes recommendations and decisions that support the Regulatory Authority to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Providing recommendations that are informed by data, analysis of evidence and accurate interpretation of the legislation.
  • Preparing accurate, high-level documentation to a range of stakeholders on a range of matters relating to early childhood education and care regulation including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions and executive recommendations.
  • Being highly organised, agile and have experience managing competing priorities.
  • Applying effective communication, conflict resolution and relationship building skills with early childhood education and care providers, services and other regulatory staff to develop and implement strategies to deliver regulatory objectives.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Highly desirable to have advanced regulatory skills, especially in the assessment and triaging of complaints and notifications.
  • Highly desirable to have experience in undertaking complex investigations.
  • Highly desirable to have experience in, or possess the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the early childhood sector.
  • Excel in administrative tasks, coordination, and reporting, ensuring high-quality outcomes in all aspects of their work.
  • Be adaptable and capable of working both in a collaborative team and independently.
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships inside and outside the organisation.

The Principal Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager Regulation, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority.
