An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified applicant wishing to be considered to work within the Multi-Tiered System of Support team with a focus on Age Appropriate Pedagogies, working across all North Coast Region schools.
This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for Semester 2 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

This role will primarily support students in the Starting Strong phase of schooling (Prep - 2), however will work across other year levels as required.
Age-appropriate pedagogies offer a research-driven and custom-built language about effective early years pedagogies and a decision-making framework that supports teachers to select and employ a range and balance of approaches and characteristics, when teaching to:

  • Actively engage children in purposeful learning experiences;
  • Enhance learning outcomes; and
  • Build positive dispositions towards learning, now and in the future.

The successful candidate will work within and across schools to enhance the engagement of students across the region. The successful applicant can be based at the Maroochydore, Maryborough or Bundaberg Office.

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments. 
  • Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 7.4 of the Department of Education State School Teachers Certified Agreement 2019. 
  • When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
