Burnside State High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to deliver the STEMM (Supporting Teenagers with Education, Mothering and Mentoring) program. This unique role supports young mothers in continuing their education, with a focus on core learning areas and life skills development.
The position will involve a variety of tasks including, teaching, case management and working with young mums and their children within an Attachment Framework. The successful applicant will be expected to either have been trained in Attachment and be willing to undertake professional development and Personal Supervision in this area.

Applicants for these positions must possess:
- Demonstrate and understanding of, and commitment to, working in an innovative team to achieve the vision and goals of the organisation.
- Demonstrate and understanding of the complexities involved with working with previously disengaged pregnant and parenting young mums and their children in an alternative education site including the development and implementation of programs with a focus on early intervention strategies.
- Willingness to be involved in STEMM activities and communications outside of school hours including some evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
- Ability to balance the ethical issues of privacy and confidentiality for each student with appropriateness of sharing information with others whilst working within Education Queensland Code of Conduct and Mandatory Reporting Frameworks.
- Demonstrate initiative, ability to work unsupervised, strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships with STEMM team members, students, community organisations and volunteers.
