Who We Are:

Isis District State High School is a rural-based secondary school, located in the township of Childers, approximately 59 kms West of Hervey Bay, Queensland. Serving as the sole Year 7-12 education provider in the district with approximately 410-450 students and around 42 teaching staff. Established in 1961, the school is built on strong community values and delivers a broad curriculum that blends academic, vocational, sporting, cultural and agricultural programs to prepare students for diverse futures.

  • Crop production tasks such as planting, irrigation, fertilisation, harvesting, and soil and pest management
  • Operation and maintenance of farm machinery, tools, and equipment
  • Hands-on fieldwork and general farm upkeep
  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of classroom and practical learning materials
  • Contributing to the creation of a safe, productive, and engaging learning environment for students
