Brooweena State School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our supportive school community.

This is an important role that contributes directly to creating a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our students, staff and families.

This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.44FTE), 33.50 hours per fortnight.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

As a Cleaner, you will play a key part in the effective daily operation of the school by delivering high-quality cleaning services in line with the school's approved cleaning program. You will ensure learning spaces, facilities, and outdoor areas meet cleanliness and hygiene standards that support student wellbeing and success.

You will report to the Principal or their nominated delegate and work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a positive and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
  • Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces.

Equipment & Security:

  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment used in daily duties.
  • Locking/unlocking buildings and activating/disarming security systems as required.
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Reporting safety, security or maintenance concerns to the Principal/Business Manager.
  • Liaising regarding the purchase or replacement of cleaning resources.
  • Assisting members of the public by directing enquiries to appropriate staff.
