Noosa District State High School has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, collaborative and innovative leader to join the leadership team for a full-time Deputy Principal position available from 13th July until 11th December unless otherwise determined.

As the Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary, you will improve the educational outcomes of students in the school and develop the quality of curriculum, teaching and learning at our bespoke Junior Secondary campus.

You will achieve this by nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders. The successful candidate will have the capability to lead across a number of improvement agendas within a large and multi-faceted Executive and Senior Leadership team that supports the growth and engagement of every student in a multi-campus environment.

About the Role

This role is based at the Pomona Campus and is accountable for the strategic leadership of Junior Secondary (Years 7-8), Transitions; and Implementation of Version 9 across the whole school.

As Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary, your responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Be futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
