Maleny State High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Agricultural Assistant to become part of our wonderful Agricultural Studies team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting agricultural learning and can play an important role in the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of our agricultural programs, providing high-quality support across a range of agricultural systems.

About the role:

  • Prepare and maintain agricultural field sites, machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Support crop production, market gardens, and soil improvement activities
  • Care for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and general husbandry
  • Maintain fences, gates, sheds, laboratories, glasshouses, and aquariums
  • Coordinate servicing and upkeep of agricultural machinery and equipment
  • Manage agricultural supplies, deliveries, storage, stocktakes, and chemical records
  • Assist teachers with practical agricultural classes, tools, and learning materials
  • Monitor workplace safety and first aid requirements within the department
  • Carry out general agricultural and maintenance duties as directed by school leadership
