Kepnock State High School is an Independent Public School situated within Bundaberg's coastal strip offering a comprehensive curriculum that caters for the full range of students including those with tertiary aspirations, vocational training needs and general personal and employability skills and development.

About the Role

As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will include the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Partnering with the Principal to provide strategic, instructional and operational leadership for the school.
  • Leading the implementation of the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan, with a focus on student achievement, engagement and success.
  • Providing instructional leadership to ensure high quality teaching, learning, assessment and moderation practices informed by evidence and data.
  • Line managing Heads of Department (The Arts, Technologies and Tallon Engagement), supporting performance, coherence and accountability.
  • Building staff capability through coaching, mentoring, feedback and targeted professional learning aligned to school and system priorities.
  • Leading wellbeing, engagement and behaviour support strategies, including executive responsibility for Tallon House.
  • Overseeing senior schooling pathways through effective Senior Education and Training Plan (SETP) processes, subject selection and transition planning.

Coordinating and providing executive oversight of key Term 3 priorities, including:

  • 2027 timetabling and subject selection
  • Year 10 subject selection processes, Subject Expo and SET planning
  • Term 3 reporting processes
  • Parent-Teacher Interviews
