You will ensure early childhood education and care (ECEC) services meet the highest standards of safety, quality & compliance: lead complex investigations, guide regulatory decisions & provide expert advice that impacts the wellbeing of children. We seek an experienced investigator with strong skills to conduct sensitive protracted investigations relating to alleged non-compliance with legislative provisions. You will possess experience in preparing detailed investigation reports, briefs of evidence and be adept at providing support, guidance, mentoring and capability-building to team members relating to investigative best practice. You will be expected to develop a broad understanding of the regulatory framework for ECEC’s and confidence with the range of regulatory tools available, within the Regulatory Authority’s risk-based approach. This position services North Lakes & Maroochydore.

About the Role

This position is primarily based at the North Lakes office; however, regular travel to Maroochydore office and Sunshine Coast services will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake complex regulatory activities, making recommendations and decisions that support the Regulatory Authority to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Lead, support and guide high-level, sensitive and/or protracted investigations relating to alleged breaches of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
  • Model strong investigative skills to build capability of team members regarding investigations.
  • Apply effective record keeping practices and using regulatory systems to capture accurate and timely data, and regularly monitoring and reviewing data quality.
  • Provide expert advice that is consistent, accurate and timely to support the Regulatory Authority leadership team and external stakeholders including regulated ECEC providers and services, the general public and other agencies.
  • Contribute to the provision of high-level documentation, including briefs of evidence, correspondence, and reports to support regulatory and executive decision making.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders including members of the sector.

  • Current Blue Card
  • Current Driver's Licence
