Golden Beach State School was opened in 1983. In this time we have gained an excellent reputation attributed to many things but in particular to the genuine commitment by staff, students and parents to the pursuit of educational excellence.
With its attractive setting our school has grown to over six hundred students. A learning, caring and sharing environment has been forged through a partnership of teacher effort, parent support and student application.

Your opportunity:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds care and support to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain school ovals, lawns, gardens, trees and shrubs.
- Operate, maintain and service grounds equipment.
- Follow WHS requirements for safe work and chemical handling.
- Manage rubbish, repairs, irrigation and general grounds maintenance.
- Maintain swimming pools and water quality records.
- Order supplies and improve school grounds.
- Prepare and maintain outdoor sporting facilities.
- Assist with junior agricultural activities when required.
