Opportunity knocks for a skilled and enthusiastic Human Resource Advisor to join our Workforce Services team on a permanent, full-time basis.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, confident, and administratively adept individual with a strong basis of experience in providing HR advice and operational support to a varied client base.
As a valued member of our broader People, Culture and Communication team, you will be integral to supporting the delivery of workforce services, programs and initiatives at the National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency), Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Nominal Defendant (ND), collectively referred to as the Motor Accident Insurance Schemes Queensland (MAIS-Q).

Your role
- Provide generalist HR advice to support employees and leaders within the business, with a particular focus on recruitment, candidate care, remuneration benefits and entitlements, and associated policy and procedures.
- Manage the team inbox and respond to a range of requests and enquiries; allocate tasks for appropriate action by team members; identify and escalate urgent or sensitive matters for attention of a more senior officer.
- Provide accurate advice and support to facilitate establishment and vacancy management, role creation and advertising, recruitment and selection, candidate care, screening, offers and commencements.
- Assist leaders to confidently access and engage with HR and payroll related information, processes, tools, forms and timeframes to deliver excellent client service and employee experience outcomes.
- Monitor and support agency compliance with relevant legislation, instruments, directives and policies that govern associated activities and decision-making by leaders.
- Liaise with the agency's external service provider (Corporate Administration Agency) and coordinate role advertising, job evaluation, organisational establishment and employee payroll updates and requests.
- Assist the development and delivery of candidate care, induction and onboarding activities, including co-designing contemporary procedures, tools, templates, materials and content.
- Prepare contracts of employment and associated forms and correspondence.
- Update and maintain workforce data, information and records including electronic files, registers and systems.
- Monitor workforce establishments across multiple entities and maintain organisational charts used by a range of personnel.
- Identify and lead or participate in business improvement activities aligned to team, work unit and organisational objectives.
- Create and maintain SharePoint repositories and published content, process maps, work instructions, forms and templates.
- Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Other duties as directed, commensurate with the role.
About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared values, and a broad skillset that includes:
- Experience in a similar HR advisory or coordination role demonstrating sound working knowledge of the current Qld public sector employment framework and ability to interpret and apply relevant instruments to activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, negotiate outcomes, and tailor advice to suit a range of audiences including executive officers.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability to accurately maintain and interrogate records, coupled with proficiency in Springboard, Aurion-HR and MS Office suite.
- Well-developed organisational skills, ability to address competing priorities, and demonstrate accountability towards delivery of team goals.
- Proven sound initiative, judgement, problem solving and critical thinking skills, to work with a high degree of autonomy and deliver business improvements.
- Awareness of and ability to manage workforce information in accordance with information management and information privacy principles and public records requirements.
